St Peter Port - Guernsey Scottish Association

About Us

The Guernsey Scottish Association was formed after the Second World War to promote interest in, and enjoyment of, all things Scottish. The first members included native Scots who had come to work in Guernsey and Guernsey folk who had developed links with Scotland through the armed forces or from being evacuated to Scotland during the years of German Occupation.

While the composition of membership has inevitably changed over the years, the Association continues to be a point of contact for Scots in Guernsey, and for anyone with an interest in, or association with Scotland, for friendship and to share in our culture and heritage. The Association’s activities have a central focus on important Scottish festivals such as St Andrew’s Day and Burns’ Night. There are active classes for Scottish country dancing and many other events with a Scottish flavour are organized throughout the year. The committee is always keen have suggestions for activities and events from our members.

Membership of the GSA is open to everyone who has an interest – only the President is required to be a Scot! Joining is simple, with a small annual membership fee. Members receive notice of all the Association’s activities by email and benefit from reduced ticket prices for the main events.
